Spring Clean-up
Our process for spring cleanup typically involves cleaning the lawn of twigs/branches, leaf blowing the beds/driveways, dethatching the lawn with our commercial-grade power rake, fertilizing, and leaf blowing at the end to ensure a beautiful-looking lawn. Although this is a standard procedure, we offer single services that include parts of our normal package. If interested we evaluate the property and give free estimates. Thatching the lawn is very beneficial for having a healthy lawn throughout the summer. Our equipment thatches the dead grass and roots to make room for newer, healthier lawns. This procedure also allows our fertilizer to bring nutrients to the roots properly.
Weekly/Biweekly Service
Our company does services ranging from the Southside of Anchorage, Midtown, and Dimond. Included in the quote is a day of the week that the crew will come on and that ranges from Monday-Friday.
While Local Lawns Alaska is set for a strict weekly schedule, rain delays may affect the days we service. We typically service on rainy days, however depending on the circumstance and the owner's preference we may reschedule the service a day later or whenever the next best time is.
We specialize in residential properties, however, we have experience in commercial buildings and are willing to take on any property.
Fertilizing/Lime
Fertilizing and lime are applied when requested. We typically do fertilizing and lime in the spring (when we finish the spring clean-up), in the middle of the season (June-July), and in the fall.
This process consists of using our nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium blend and applied using our broadcast spreader.
Spring: we use a 22-11-11 mix to bring the lawn vital nutrients for a healthy start.
Summer: 16-16-16 mix to make that grass grow green and firm.
Fall: 15-10-20 blend to keep it looking good till the winter and prepare it for next season.
Along with applying the fertilizer, we recommend adding our limestone pellets to help with balancing the pH levels of the lawn.
Edging
Edging is a great way to transform your lawn. By scraping the sidewalks, driveways, and around any edges, we can create a sharp look on the lawn. After the initial edging procedure, we will continuously keep the corners cut when we service weekly. We typically recommend adding this in the spring cleanup service, but we are always able to do it throughout the summer.
